Belize hat nicht nur eine wundersch\u00f6ne Landschaft, sondern auch das zweitgr\u00f6\u00dfte Riff der Welt, nach dem Great Barrier Reef in Australien.\u00a0Genau dieses wollte ich mir nicht entgehen lassen. Nach Tobacco Caye, eine kleine Insel Mitten im Riff.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

<\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr>\n<h6>Werbung durch Hotelempfehlung (aus \u00dcberzeugung)<\/h6>\n<p><strong>Belize<\/strong> – Unbekanntes Land mit riesen Potential. Ehrlich gesagt, ich wusste vorher nicht mal genau wo Belize ist. Ich hatte es nur meiner lieben Kollegin Sonja zu verdanken, dass meine Reise von Guatemala weiter nach <strong>Belize<\/strong> ging. Diese erz\u00e4hlte mir von der atemberaubenden Sch\u00f6nheit dieses Landes und sie hatte nicht zu viel versprochen. Aber von vorne.<\/p>\n<h2><u>Anreise nach Tobacco Caye – Belize<\/u><\/h2>\n<p>Wir kamen aus Richtung <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cattivakat.com\/tikal\/\">Guatemala<\/a>, genau genommen Flores. Dort hatten wir bereits bei der Ankunft ein Shuttle nach <em>Belmopan\u00a0<\/em><u>um 07:00 Uhr<\/u> gebucht. Wir h\u00e4tten auch <u>um 05:00 Uhr<\/u> fahren k\u00f6nnen, das erschien uns jedoch unn\u00f6tig. Schlaf muss ja auch mal sein. Das Shuttle sollte <u>um 11:00 Uhr<\/u> in Belmopan ankommen. „Das reicht locker um <u>bis 13:30 Uhr<\/u> in Dangriga zu sein“ so dachten wir es uns. Von dort ging es auf die „einsamen Insel“ <strong>Tobacco Caye<\/strong>, auf die wir uns schon seit Monaten freuten. Planm\u00e4\u00dfige Ankunft auf Trauminsel also ca <u>14:00 Uhr<\/u>. Gebucht hatten wir ja schon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Tag1<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cattivakat.com\/route-mexiko-guatemala-belize-kuba\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> (Tag 8 unserer Reise)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bei der Ankunft in Flores bei dem netten Mann, der uns gleich entgegen kam und was soll ich sagen: TUT DAS AUF KEINEN FALL. Denn w\u00e4hrend alle anderen Backpacker, die im <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cattivakat.com\/tikal\/\">Hostel Amigos<\/a> direkt das Shuttle gebucht hatten, von einem Bus <u>um 07:00 Uhr<\/u> geholt wurden, kam bei uns ein ca 11 j\u00e4hrigem Junge und kurz darauf fanden wir uns in einem \u00f6rtlichen Reiseb\u00fcro wieder. Von einem Shuttlebus weit und breit nichts zu sehen.<\/p>\n<p>„\u00bfPardon, d\u00f3nde est\u00e1 el autob\u00fas\u00bf ?cuando sale el bus\u00bf“ „um acht“ sagte mir der Junge. Wir sollten schon lange unterwegs sein. Ich sprach mit dem Jungen in meinem schlechten spanisch, dass da was nicht stimmte. Doch er blieb cool, mein Gebrabbel schien ihn eher etwas zu nerven. Und so brachte er uns zu einer \u00d6FFENTLICHEN Bushaltestelle. Dort warteten wir erneut eine halbe Stunde, bis ein – klar – <em>\u00f6ffentlicher Bus <\/em>kam (wir hatten umgerechnet 30\u20ac f\u00fcr das Shuttle bezahlt). Zweimal Belmopan sagte der Junge dem Fahrer. Kopfsch\u00fctteln „nach <em>Belize City<\/em>, heute kommt auch kein Bus mehr nach <em>Belmopan<\/em>„! Nicht nur Marina und mir fiel alles aus dem Gesicht, auch der Kleine fing gleich an zu weinen. Ich fragte den Busfahrer, was nun der beste Weg nach <em>Belmopan<\/em> w\u00e4re. „Mit mir bis zur Grenze von<strong> Belize<\/strong> und dann nehmt ihr ein Taxi nach St. Ignazio (ca. 8 $), von dort geht der Bus auf dem direkten Weg nach Belmopan“. Nun\u00a0ging es ja\u00a0nicht mehr anders: Also rein in den Bus.<\/p>\n<p>Tats\u00e4chlich klappte auch alles,\u00a0wie vom Busfahrer erkl\u00e4rt. An der Grenze bekamen wir schnell den Stempel und mussten\u00a0 nicht mal was bezahlen. Die Dame war auch sehr nett. <strong>Welcome to Belize<\/strong>. Das Taxi brachte uns nach St Ignazio und 20 Minuten sp\u00e4ter sa\u00dfen wir auch schon im <a href=\"https:\/\/www.belmopanonline.com\/belize-bus-schedules\">Bus nach Belmopan,<\/a> der nach und nach voller wurde. Ein Junge h\u00f6rte laut Musik, die Atmosph\u00e4re war toll. Bemopan ist die Hauptstadt von <strong>Belize,<\/strong> weil sie so zentral liegt. <em>Belize City<\/em>\u00a0liegt zu Dicht am Meer und k\u00f6nnte von einem Hurrikane zerst\u00f6rt werden. Belmopan ist daher auch der Dreh und Angelpunkt des Busverkehrs von <strong>Belize<\/strong>. Jeder Bus\u00a0h\u00e4lt vor einer Schranke und kommt ca. jede\u00a0volle Stunde. Der Bus nach Dangriga war super voll. Wir setzten uns auf einen Platz, auf dem M\u00fcllt\u00fcten lagen. Wir sa\u00dfen 3 Minuten, da kam eine dicke Mummy rein und schreit uns an: you are sitting on my seat – this is my seat! Marina setzte sich schnell woanders hin und mir sagte sie, ich k\u00f6nne bleiben, da sie meinen Sitz \u00fcber dem Rad eh nicht brauchen k\u00f6nne. Mittlerweile war\u00a0<u>14:00 Uhr<\/u> schon lange durch. Das regul\u00e4re Boot nach <strong>Tobacco Caye<\/strong> lange weg.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><u>Um 15:30 Uhr<\/u> waren wir endlich in Dangriga. Von dort mussten wir zum Hafen und in die\u00a0Kneipe <em>Riverside<\/em>. Sie ist hinter der zweiten Br\u00fccke gleich rechts. Und das war noch ein ganzes St\u00fcck zu Fu\u00df. Verdammt. Ein Taxi w\u00e4re die bessere Wahl gewesen. Begr\u00fc\u00dft wurden wir dort von Charly. Cooler Typ. Leider war ich so kaputt, dass ich nicht daran dachte, ein Foto zu machen. „Das Boot war weg“ (ach). Wir k\u00f6nnten eines anheuern, das koste extra und wir m\u00fcssten erstmal Benzin f\u00fcrs Boot und eine Mannschaft besorgen. Ansonsten k\u00f6nntet ihr in Dangriga schlafen und morgen wieder nach <strong>Tobacco Caye.“ <\/strong>So kurz vorm Ziel aufgeben no way! Erst einen Kaffee, der schmeckte scheu\u00dflich. Wir kaufen uns ein Belohnungs-Bier und noch bevor wir das richtig aufgemacht hatten, konnte es auch schon losgehen.<\/p>\n<p><u>Um 16:30 Uhr<\/u> stiegen wir endlich in das Fischer-Motorboot mit 3 jungen Belizean, von denen einer keine Z\u00e4hne und der andere eine Cognac Flasche in der Hand hatte und los ging es auf das offenen Meer….Als Touri stellt man sich diese Anreise total romantisch vor. Man tuckert \u00fcber das Riff zur einsamen Insel, nebenbei einen kleinen Cocktail am Sonnendeck. Die Realit\u00e4t sah so aus: Deike und Marina mit drei Jungs, mit denen man\u00a0 sonst nicht unbedingt in die Einsamkeit fahren w\u00fcrde. Bier in der Hand, das man nicht trinken konnte, weil man von jeder Welle einen solchen Schlag unterm Hintern bekam, dass man ernsthaft dar\u00fcber nachdachte, ob man \u00fcber Bord gehen k\u00f6nnte. Und das ganze sollte 45 Minuten dauern. Der mit der Cognac Flasche sabbelt unentwegt auf mich ein und ich verstand kein Wort, so laut war es. Ab und an gab er uns Zeichen, dass wir uns ducken sollten. Brachte aber nicht viel. Wir waren nass. Ich liebe das Meer und ich hatte meinen Spa\u00df. Auf die Frage: are you afraid? Konnte ich daher nur l\u00e4cheln und sagen „afraid of what? Getting wet?“ Denn nass bis auf die Haut waren wir schon. Zart Besaitete sollten sich also sp\u00e4testens jetzt dar\u00fcber bewusst werden, dass der Weg zum Paradies wirklich kein Zuckerschlecken ist. Denn auch die anderen <strong>Tobacco Caye <\/strong>Besucher mussten mit dem Fischerboot zur Insel fahren und das deutsche Paar, das einen Tag sp\u00e4ter kommen sollte, sollte noch viel mehr Action haben… Eine halbe Stunde waren wir nun schon unterwegs, da blieb das Boot stehen. Offenes Meer, keine Insel weit und breit, ins Meer springen war nicht. Nun wurde mir wirklich mulmig. „Cigarette.“ Fragte der zahnlose Captain. „Ja!“ Ich rauche eigentlich nicht mehr und Marina hat noch nie geraucht, aber wenn das nicht der richtige Moment f\u00fcr eine Zigarette war, dann wei\u00df ich auch nicht.\u00a0<u>17:20 Uhr<\/u>, mit mehr als 3 Stunden Versp\u00e4tung, erreichen wir endlich Tobacco Caye. Die Sonne ging\u00a0bald unter. In jeder 10.000sten ist eine Perle. In Belize werden sie daher regelrecht gepl\u00fcndert….<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pixels-photo\">\n<p>Der Sternenhimmel machte den Abend im Paradies perfekt. Mitten in der Nacht wachte ich auf. Ich war nass und es war laut. Es st\u00fcrmte! Die Fensterklappen hatte ich offen gelassen und es hatte mich vollgeregnet. War leider auch kein Traumwetter auf Tobacco Caye…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Auch am n\u00e4chsten Morgen war es immer noch windig, kalt und regnerisch. Und so konnten wir nichts tun, als in unserer Kabine zu lesen. So hatten wir uns das nun nicht vorgestellt. Gegen Mittag zieht ein neuer Sturm auf und sp\u00fclte „die Neuen“ an, ein deutsches Paar und 2 Schweden die Fischen wollten. Mit der Nussschale durch den Sturm. Respekt. Als es sich gegen Abend endlich etwas besserte, konnten wir noch einmal um die Insel schnorcheln, lecker essen und schon wieder in die Kabine verschwinden.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Tag 3<\/p>\n<div class=\"pixels-photo\">\n<figure style=\"width: 900px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/drscdn.500px.org\/photo\/247510433\/m%3D900\/v2?webp=true&sig=265ff1c1c9382867a581e8bc2d641f5c8485aaf50926a2c30818344b34147530\" alt=\"Tobacco Caye Paradise Glamping by Cattiva Kat on 500px.com\" height=\"598\" width=\"900\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Unsere H\u00fctte auf dem Meer<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Am n\u00e4chsten Tag war es endlich sch\u00f6n, wenn auch immer noch sehr windig. Zusammen mit 4 amerikanischen Urlaubern buchten wir ein Boot. Wir fuhren zur sogenannten Vogelinsel, hielten Ausschau nach Manatees (leider haben wir nur kurz einen gesehen) und schnorchelten mitten im Korallenriff .<\/p>\n<p>Ich wollte unbedingt ein Foto mit der Drohne machen, die ich mir <a href=\"https:\/\/getgrover.com\/de\">geliehen<\/a> habe. Leider verlangte diese ein Update und f\u00fcr das wiederum reichte das Wlan nicht…bl\u00f6d! Daher hier das Video von <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCU5FFHNaBHXPti24WvuBqGA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jean Marc Thimon,\u00a0<\/a>welches sicher ohnehin viel besser ist als meines h\u00e4tte werden k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HhhxMYPwM0I\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>Abends gingen wir\u00a0mit den Insel-Guides Ru&J. zum Nacht-Schnorcheln.<\/p>\n<p>Danach tranken wir ein Bier am Wasser. Ru erz\u00e4hlt uns von der Kultur der Garifuna, dem nahenden Fest zur Unabh\u00e4ngigkeit von <strong>Belize<\/strong>, das mit Trommel-Wettbewerben und viel Essen zelebriert wird. Belize war eine Sklaven-Enklave. Die Sklaven die Schiffsbruch erlitten hatten, fanden hier ein neues Zuhause. Ihre Kultur wird erg\u00e4nzt durch die der Mayas und Kreolen\u00a0sowie wenigen anderen Einwanderern. Die Mentalit\u00e4t der Belizea, vor allem die der Garifuna, ist \u00e4hnlich der, der Jamaikaner. Eher cool und l\u00e4ssig. Mir fiel jedoch auf, dass au\u00dfer Ru viele Belizea den Wunsch hatten, in den USA zu leben. Auch seine Eltern lebten im Staat New York, wie viele Auswanderer aus <strong>Belize<\/strong>. Schon auf dem Hinweg, hatte mir an einer Bushaltestelle ein Mann einen Vortrag \u00fcber die Genialit\u00e4t der USA gehalten. Ich dachte erst, der will mich verarschen oder ich verstehe ihn auf Grund des krassen Slangs nicht richtig. Aber er blieb nicht der Letzte. Verwunderlich, dass Menschen nie mit dem Zufrieden sind,\u00a0was sie haben, dachte ich. Warum will man diese unglaubliche Natur, gegen Stra\u00dfenl\u00e4rm, TV und Rassismus tauschen? Man braucht doch an so einem Ort\u00a0kaum etwas zum Gl\u00fccklich sein, sollte man meinen.<\/p>\n<p>Ich bin so froh \u00fcber diesen Abend, er hat mir viel mehr gegeben als eine Unterhaltung mit Deutschen oder Amis \u00fcber das Thema, was man denn schon alles im Urlaub gemacht hat, inkl. der offensichtlich sehr deutschen Eigenschaft, immer alles \u00fcberbieten zu wollen „du hast einen Seestern gesehen? Ich habe 5 Seesterne gesehen! Du hast keinen Tintenfisch gesehen? ich habe einen gesehen! Der Manatee war gleich weg? Wir haben ganz viele gesehen, einer hat sich von uns streicheln lassen und ein anderer hat uns zum Kaffee eingeladen, nachdem er einen doppelten FlickFlack gemacht hatte und dabei die Nationalhymne von Tobacco Caye nach Chetumal <\/u><\/h2>\n<p>Am n\u00e4chsten <u>Morgen um 09:00 Uhr<\/u> war es Zeit zum Abschied nehmen – viel zu schnell. Mit den Hunden der Insel ging ich nochmal Gassi und dann ging es schon mit dem Boot zur\u00fcck zum Festland. Dann mit dem Bus bis Belize City von dort weiter bis kurz vor die Grenze (da der Bus nach Chetumal schon wieder weg war). Von dort mit dem Taxi zur Grenze (f\u00fcr wenige Pesos). Bei Sonnenuntergang betraten wir wieder mexikanischen Boden. Mit dem Taxi geht es zum Flughafen, wo wir unseren Mietwagen holten – einen Chevrolet aus den 80ern. Nach einer 1 st\u00fcndigen Irrfahrt durch Chetumal, inkl. Stop durch die\u00a0Polizei, das Licht hatte einen Wackelkontakt, fanden wir endlich unser Hotel .<\/p>\n<p>Unser kurzer Stopp auf dem Weg nach <em>Tulum<\/em>…<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #333399\">Kosten und Empfehlungen<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333399\">Reise mit dem Bus von Flores nach Dangriga: 30\u20ac mit Shuttle bis Belmopan und dann weiter mit <\/span><span style=\"color: #333399\"><a style=\"color: #333399\" href=\"https:\/\/www.belmopanonline.com\/belize-bus-schedules\">\u00f6ffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln <\/a><\/span><span style=\"color: #333399\">pro Fahrt umgerechnet ca 4\u20ac (keine Garantie).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333399\">Fahrt von\/nach Tobacco Caye 25 Dollar, wenn man p\u00fcnktlich ist…… Ich wei\u00df nicht mehr was wir bezahlt haben.
